Lucia Filmmaker Takes a #UTURN

‪#‎UTurn ‬ is a movie with a gripping storyline. The underlying theme is karma and it's vicious circle. But it's got another strong message for all. The brilliance is, how in the form of a mystery thriller the filmmaker tries to address a grave concern which seldom attracts our seriousness. The movie has many brilliant moments. It's got all the elements needed to keep you glued onto your seats. The climax makes many conclude it as a supernatural thriller. Having said that it still doesn't undermine the filmmakers attempt to create a brilliant cinema. Kudous to Pawan Kumar for making a brilliant movie. The Lucia director has broken new grounds with U Turn . Now hoping to see more of such fantabulous movies. It's heartening to note that new age filmmakers have brought in a new wave in Kannada cinema's. I wish many more of such movies get done and be seen. Verdict: U Turn is a must watch Kannada Movie  - VJ Says Cheers and Peace

THITHI - Birth, Funeral and The In-between

THITHI a brilliantly made movie! One of the few that I would have raved about in recent times. You shouldn't miss out on this movie. There are so many layers to the story yet it is as grounded as it could be. It challenges your mind if you choose to indulge, if you choose otherwise you shall still feel entertained. Karma, Innocence, Romance, Sins, Philosophy, Normality, Morality all carefully weaved together. #‎THITHI‬... Is simple yet splendid! P.S: Gaddappa, this character is amazingly conceived by the creator & amazingly portrayed by the actor. - VJ Says Cheers and Peace

Count Your Blessings

We bother and brood over what we believe is missing, Makes me wonder why we fail to count our blessings! There are plenty and it's not that we don't know of them, Some how we seem to have stopped appreciating them. It's so easy for us to get lost in our life's everyday battles, We seldom pause to look inwards, we are busy chasing dreams of castles. I realize that it's not too hard to get over moments of distress, If only we were to be a little humble and look at things afresh. Make a new beginning, it's never too late for anyone ever, A little nudge, a little bit a pacifying is all that inner child needs. -VJ Says ~ Cheers and Peace

Don't Panic. Pause And Reflect.

There are days when you are absolutely clueless about where life is headed too. Some of these days are those when you have taken off your hands from the steering. The kite flying high is a factor of multiple things. One of course is the ability of the kite flyer to maneuver the flight in the windy open sky. The other being the uncontrollable factor, the speed of the wind could be one. We all love being in control of the life that we lead. Maybe at times believing it's something we all need to tame. We kind of get hold of it too, begin to believe it's all in our control. It sure is to large extent. That's what we been taught. Some point along our journey we begin to panic. It's the point where we feel we have started to loose grip on things. The world suddenly seems upside-down. It's onset of calamity we proclaim. It's at this point we need to pause. Panic sure won't help us make things better. The clouded mind is certainly not a great judge. If ...

Shades Of Life

You are the untouchable in your dark moments of life. All you seek is light in the form of hope. If you cry out your pain, you are seen as vulnerable. But isn't being vulnerable human too. Is being strong, enduring pain and suffering to the point of self destruction. The world is cruel we protest, but then we also say we got to adjust. It helps to stay real and true, sometimes not being favorite too. Between sunrise and sunset it's worth to be just yourself and true. -VJ Says Cheers and Peace

Choosing to be the real me

Imprisoned is what I felt, Chained and bonded within limits. Limits that I didn't wish for, But they said it's norms I got to follow. I felt restless and stifled, Never being let to express my thoughts. I questioned what they said was the only right, But they chose to brand me wrong. I believed in being nonconformist, Not to be to indifferent but to be true. I began flaunting the unabashed me, I knew they secretly liked that about me. I continued to be called the deviant and digressive, A misfit that they secretly always wanted to be. They always spoke of me in hushed tone, I knew they were just jealous for they could never be me. - VJ says Cheers and peace

The Inner Voice

Freedom is what I seek, Not to fly high in the sky, But from people's judgemental mind.  They stare at me and stare hard, When they pass by me on the street, A sense of discomfort runs down my spine.  I question myself, I question thee, Does my inner beauty make you uncomfortable, Or is it just the lust that I see it your eyes.  I ain't just a piece of meat or your wet dream, I am not born just to be your fantasy, Just try to knock your inner conscious, You shall realize that I am so much more than such triviality. -VJ says Cheers and Peace  P.S: Wrote this a couple of weeks back. Trying to imagine and portray in words suppressed feeling of a woman who has felt objectified.

Truth is tough, Choose tough, Stay tough.

"Truth is tough, lies are easy,  Sometimes we choose the easy over tough.  To preach is easy, it's tough to learn.  The truth about learning is, it's a need,  To stop learning, is to become obsolete.  Choose tough, stay tough." These words were written a few days ago. Then they lived a lonely life in the draft folder. There is more to it than being mere words that don’t rhyme. I have always believed that life's journey is insignificant without the learnings, a big part of it. Learnings and lessons are lot beyond few hundred pages of a book and the four walls of a classroom. It's not just about the fear of becoming obsolete without new learnings. It's also about the loss of experiences that count. The other part to it is the choices we make. Most of us want to avoid the tough ones, in the hope that easier choices build a easier life. If there is one thing that I have come to realize, it's that there is nothing called as easy life. Ev...

The man who knew infinity... My thoughts

"I wish there were more movies made around the brilliance of mind and people blessed with it." These were my exact thoughts the day I watched 'Man who knew infinity'.  I was superbly impressed by the movie. The movie had so many interesting plots seamlessly stitched together. To me the highlight wasn't just that it was the story of one of the most brilliant mathematicians of India. There was so much more to it. It made me ask the fundamental question, why is Bollywood not making enough of such movies. Also why does it always have be a Hollywood movie to invoke such strong emotions for stories which are strongly associated with India. Remember the movie Slumdog Millionaire. The movie had truly impressive star cast including Dev Patel as Srinivasa Ramanujan,  Jeremy Irons as G. H. Hardy, Arundhati Nag as Ramanujan's mother and Devika Bhise as Janaki, Ramanujan's wife amongst others. Srinivas Ramanujan, what a character he must have been in f...
