Colour My Soul, Colour me Bright...

It all looks so colourful outside,
But I sense the darkness within.
In search of colours to brighten my soul,
I step outside the imaginary walls,
And so does the new journey begin.

Never been certain what colour was my soul,
But it sure was not grey as now.
May be it was pink with love,
May be even yellow with joy,
Or maybe it was red, blue and green.

Wonder aloud where did I lose those colours?
What made them go light and disappear?
Was it the pain I brought upon myself?
Or was it all just my fear?

It’s time now to smash out of the shell,
Heaven within awaits with open arms.
It’s time now to soak myself in joy,
It’s time now to smile and ring the invisible bell.

  2. That was nice a read!!
for some reason reading the poem reminds me of "Colours of Light" by Dorithea Mackellar. It guess it is the essential use of colors to describe the bigger picture.

i write poetry very intermittently, so i understand when u say words flow on their own....:0), but dont stop when they flow.

  4. This is one of your best poems and I liked it very much. It is not simple though. It makes you to take a pause and think, and that, in my openion, is the sign of a really good poem.

Awakening Of the Inner Self!

It was yet another  Friday  or billions of earthlings. May be it was a mundane day ahead for some and exciting for others. An exciting day ahead for the ones who were certain of the joy to be unwrapped the next day, the weekend. Well, in my case it was the former. Blame it on being one amongst the many who work on Saturdays.
