Minds Eye Of Life

There few acts and action from which you derive immense happiness, but they don’t pay you to make a living off it. They may be hobbies you pursue, things that you do to have a happy soul. And somewhere down the journey you add the element of expectations to it. Instead of acts of selfless joy these turn to be acts of ego. Expectations somehow add to your miseries which you were already battling in life. Gradually you stop pursuing little acts of happiness and stay stuck in daily muddle of chasing the unknown to make a living. Until one day you wake up after a sleepless night and speak to your inner self. Cry out loud, question self about your foolishness and then feel determined to start the journey rediscover self. You start to put together bits and pieces of the shattered self. Feel resurgent and decide to start pursuing those acts of selfless joy. The life that we lead may not be the life that we wanted. Happy or not we end up living it. At least most of us do and may be a few give up too early. But then it makes me think. We might be living the life we lead but there could be two different reasons to it. One set of people are leading it because they have given up hope of realizing their dreams. The other set of people are still hopeful that someday they will realise their dreams. What separates the two is hope. Keeping the hope alive comes at a cost for all. Facing endless critics and battling umpteen cynics. There will be many such moments when you feel that it’s easier to give in than to battle them. But the key lies in clinging on to that last ounce of hope. The other thing about life that always gets me thinking is people’s obsession for perfectness. Well I am referring to people who seek perfectness in people with whom they cohabitate.  Why is it so difficult to accept others the way they are? Its acceptance...

What you deserve is what you desire, What you gain is what you are destined. Yet you keep building the castle of your dreams, For you hope desires will turn into your destiny. Some truth and some lie, Mix them both and you have life, All that you get is not what you seek, No point standing silent, This place sure is not for the meek. What you believe is what you follow, You stand by them, cause those are your ethics. Seldom do the others out there care, For they feel you are a preacher, And they have no time for philosophy. Sometimes you end up confused, Standing and starring at the cross roads, Just keep walking on the path you choose. It’s better to try than fear, Never look back, never regret, There is nothing to lose. When it all ends one fine day, Someone somewhere is sure to say, Once there was a crazy young lad, He did what he believed in, He never feared to be sad.

How often have you not come across people trying to preach you the right way to do things? I guess almost everyone does, it’s some sort of human phenomenon I guess. I completely respect their sentiments; sure their words are stemmed from certain experience too.  But at times it kind of gets little too much to take, when others try to emphasise that their way is the only way. I strongly believe same strategy may not work for all. What works for others may not work for you. And what works for you may not work for me. What could be the reason for resentment, when you express your belief? You believe their suggestions are not suiting your case, but they simply disagree to understand you. Is it to do with rubbing them the wrong way? Hitting them hard where it hurts the most. I’m talking about people’s ego. Their reaction is an indication of what might be transitioning within; their self esteem comes crashing down to earth. It would all be so much easier to co-exi...
