The saddening news of one of Hollywood’s most revered actor Robin Williams’s death was probably the most talked news yesterday. Social media was abuzz with talks about his alleged suicide. This got me thinking on the age old topic of life versus death. Life can be easy or difficult. But death can only be easy. Death is a moment of reality. I have heard people talk about painful death. But how can it be painful, because if you can feel the pain then you are still alive. Many a times we wish for death. May be we feel defeated; maybe we don’t have the courage to face life. But when death stares at us, eye to eye, we get scared and pray for life. If not all, few of us for sure would really feel the fear. Death like darkness is patronized by all at some point in everyone’s life. It thought of death enlightens the poet in all. It’s romanticized by writers too. Some believe it to be evil. Our life is a great mix of sugar, salt and lime, It’s like poetry with the right beat and rhyme. It’s undeniable that we all live a mortal life, Yet we want to believe absence of the hanging knife. There is a battle being fought by us with time, Every changing phase we lose and win few dimes. All along the journey we live million emotions, Some dreams are shattered and some are realised. Few defeats break us from within, Few victories make us feel invincible. Dreams may be silly, But make them reality, Live well, live big, Today is all you have. They will never stop, The noise of cynics, They wouldn’t your ideas, But what matters is your belief. Once there lived a young man called aspiration. He always spoke of big ideas and dreams. When others asked him what his secret ingredient to staying positive was, he would say it was the magic of his secret friend called inspiration. Inspiration was not his only friend; he had another close pal called optimism who was sworn enemy of pessimism. As days rolled by aspiration only grew from strength to strength. Everyone seemed to be flattered with his immaculate persistence and drive to achieve. All seemed to be going well until a gal from next town called reality came into his life. She was quiet a beauty in her own right. Many a men had laid down their arms and had given into her pressure tactics. Aspiration said to self and the world that he would never give up like others. “If Life is a reality, so is death. If Truth is a reality, so is lie. If Love is a reality, so is hate. Time oscillates between real and the unreal, Unreal too is a reality in the making. You will always wish to change your present,   But the present is real and so are your wishes too. You might try and fail to change your realities, What you forget to respect in the game is your individuality.” Well these words pretty much sum up everything that I wanted to convey. Now there isn’t any particular incident that happened which actually triggered these words. It was just few thoughts bubbling up in my mind and I had to find a way to let them escape.

No stories to tell, no poetries to recite just a thought to share triggered in my mind when I was walking back home after a tiring day at work. Why is it so hard to accept realities of life? Why we humans are so bent on complicating our lives? Humans as I believe are born with a simple path and even simpler thoughts. But as we grow older we just complicate our life. Then we reach point when we look back at our present and shout aloud, 'Life is complex'. We always find it hard to accept the realities of life. We like to defer it, hallucinate that the now we live is not what it is. Simply because it is not what we want it to be. Rather than accepting the present we have, we try to fight it in pursuit of something that we wish was the now! Sometimes in life its important to face the current, the real, the present. It may not be all that good, but the ones with the courage to accept the now the way it is, are the ones who can move forward to create the life we wish to li...
