Random Thoughts On A Dark Night

Not sure why, but it feels uneasy within,

A thousand thoughts running in my mind,

Wonder if it is anger or is it pain,

The reason is hard to find.

May be I’m feeling a bit tired,

May be I’m feeling a bit unhappy,

Few silent tears wet my cheek,

Illusive is the peace that the heart seeks.

As the soul searches for the reason,

Darkness around seems comforting,

Question still troubles the troubled mind,

Is this how it was meant to be?

A distinct voice speaks to me,

Reciting a silent prayer within,

A tiny glimmer of hope still shines,

“Someday it’s going to be time for smiles.”

It was the fourth time that evening I had checked the time, it read 7:57 PM. I had planned to leave office a little early that day but alas I had failed yet again. Finally I had managed to wrap the work, pack my bag and leave for the day. After several months I was finally visiting my family, next three days I would be happily away from the city and work.
