A Romantic Fantasy

Last night in a state of intoxication I asked a good friend of mine to suggest a phrase. He said ‘Fantasy’! I tried hard to pen few thoughts on it and I failed. Tonight when I was watching a sitcom, a romantic melody was being played in the background. ‘Romance’, the word filled my mind with pleasant emotions. As I sit now with my legs stretched on my bed to write my blog, a thought popped in my mind. Isn’t romance an element of fantasy? Or is it the other way around, fantasy is an element of romance. I’m no Shakespeare on the subject of love and romance. Yet I know every heart yearns dearly to find some romance. Romance and fantasy is a lethal combination. It shatters ones state of equilibrium. Its intoxicating effect is beyond words. Its just colours one see engrossed in the fantasy of romance, pink, red and many more. Care to look around you at people in love. Their worlds are so different from the rest. Totally engrossed in their sweet thoughts, world around th...

“Confusion Called Life”

“Wounded mind is more powerful than normal mind”. It was the tag line of a SMS that I received recently. Sometimes I find these forwarded SMS’s pretty pesky in nature. Pretty much so cause I’ve been quite Impatient by nature. Wait, Nature! Let me blame it on circumstances. There I go again playing the blame game. The buck got to stop somewhere, Let it end here. The SMS did ignite or should I say reignite the spark in me to write again. I know, I know, my on and off romance with writing been ongoing for a while. Back home from work I sat as usual lost in thoughts as every other day. ‘Confusion Called Life’ were the three words which stroked me from nowhere. And I got thinking again. Somewhere down the line I’ve always fought hard to get out of the intermittent state of confused mind. I’ve been trying hard to figure out a way to pave a path of unambiguousness. A thought of finding a structured way to accomplish what I call as set of achievable purposes. But every time I try to do so so...

crazy diamond

First time I saw her I saw an angel, Silly young me for thinking, She will always be mine. Her eyes spoke of things beyond beauty They where glittering with essence of purity. Silly young me for thinking, I will stay lost in them forever. She smiled and it felt as if, The world around smiled along. Silly young me for thinking, The smile would stay forever mine. Destiny or not, People meet and part away. Some fall in love with the person, Some fall in love with the moment. Silly young all of us, It’s just time and it too has to pass, Just like the angel I met once, Not knowing one day she too had to go away. She went away without saying goodbye, But she will always remain my crazy diamond, She will stay shining high in the sky. By Vj Cheers n Peace!

Journey....

A journey called life that never seems to end, Joy, sorrow and confusion is just a perfect blend. Dreams not just one but many, Some sweet, some sour and some dark. Life in a way is a reflection of those dreams, They may not have all come true Yet what stays alive is the spark . There are days when I ask myself, What I want to be? The answer seems to change its form, But the question remains the same within me. Life pretends to be in a state of constant trance, Stirring itself in direction of the inconsistent rhythm. Yet there seems to be a pattern to it, A joy within when high, A silence when bit by sorrow. The journey will end someday, The music will die, But who knows life may still go on, For its journey that has ended not life! - Cheers N Peace! VJ!

Thoughts triggered by a crash

Today is Tuesday, May 25, 2010! Three days back i.e on Saturday, May 22, 2010, 158 persons were killed when a plane of Air India's low budget carrier from Dubai with 166 on board overshot the runway at the airport in Mangalore. The event left me haunting with several questions and many realizations! I woke up that day around 7:30 in the morning only to be welcomed by the ghastly pictures from the crash site on TV! The days that followed news papers carried many articles about the same. The media seemed to have a merry time cashing on the event! Not their fault every business is here to make profit! But personally It only reinforced the fact that we human beings are very small at the end of the day, immaterial how successful and rich we may evolve to be in life! There are many things that you can't gain control on! Call it destiny or whatever word you choose! Then again .......... Well I had left this one incomplete.... today is 06 June 2010... It has been 12 days since I last a...

War.... Peace... And Life!

Oh my darling don’t be scared, It’s all going to be over pretty soon. The bombing is going to stop, The firing is going to end, When we are all dead, it’s going to end! Don’t you close thy eyes, Let them see the world as it is, For there is not going to be any tomorrow. Don’t you shut thy ears, Let them hear the firing of the guns. Oh my darling don’t be scared, It’s all going to be over pretty soon. All of humanity never learned from their past, Wars to cover their dark deeds, Wars in the name of peace! Death, misery and darkness comes with the blast, Wonder how long they are all going to last! Oh my darling don’t be scared, It’s all going to be over pretty soon. I wrote this as I sat wondering about the never ending wars being fought around the world... Is this the future we are going to gift to the children of tomorrow~ - Vijay Shenoy

A Sunday To Remember!

“Sundays come Sundays go, Signalling the end of the weekend Pessimists sulks in the agony of Monday blue An optimist rejoices, sinks deep and enjoys the Sunday” Sunday the 07 December 2009 was indeed a day I had not foreseen to have fun, but boy what a Sunday it turned out to be. My Sundays are usually the same, no different from the previous ones. But the last few weeks I had sensed within me certain welcome changes from within. Yet I had not planned anything different for this Sunday of mine.  I was casually sitting on my bed, post breakfast reading the Sunday Times. A phone call from a close friend changed it all. He gave me an hour to get ready and reach his place, for what awaited me after reaching there, the events I became part of subsequently changed the way my Sundays usually are. Well before I proceed further let me tell you all, I don’t propose that my Sunday was better than anyone else’s in the world. But to me it was special because I found myself being genuinely happy and...
